KayakNav draws Bisect Lines on the map as thin dashed lines. These line are draw so as to bisect the route through each Waypoint. Even though these bisects are only short on the map, behind the scenes, they extend indefinitely in each direction. KayakNav uses these bisect to know when it has passed a Waypoint and this triggers Targeting calculations.

The coordinates and orientation of bisect lines are pre-calculated when the Route is loaded and optimised. The data is stored in the internal database for fast loading and display on the map.

The Start Line and Finish Line are just special bisect lines that are coloured differently and trigger special responses when crossed.
