Abbreviations

Abbreviations are used by morse code operators to reduce the keying for some commonly used sequences as shown below. Morsenger also supports the translation of these abbreviations automatically.
Morsenger automatically uses the following Abbreviations when sending and receiving Morse Code.
- Common Morse Abbreviations,
- Q Code abbreviations and
- 10 Code abbreviations
Some examples include:
- if you enter "Help", Morsenger will translate this into "SOS"
- "Are you busy?" --> "QRL"
- "What is your location?" --> 1020
If you enter a known abbreviation, it is used without change. If you enter text that can be abbreviated, the abbreviation will be sent in order to reduce the transmission time.
When receiving Morse Code, abbreviations are automatically expanded for display.
