Morsenger only has a few buttons as noted below.

Start the App and you will see a familiar messaging interface. Drag it up and down to scroll through your messages. The difference is that is doesn't send SMS text messages and doesn't require a Wifi connection or a data connection to function.

Hit the "Gear" icon to pop-up a Morsenger Settings panel. Drag the sliders to set the optical and audio sending speed in words per minute. Drag to the extreme left to disable transmission for either flash or audio or both. Tap anywhere outside the pop-up panel to close it. These settings will be remembered until you change them or re-install Morsenger. You can also clear all of the sent and received messages using a button on this pop-up.

When Morsenger is receiving audio, a spectral display will overlay this button, but still allow the button to be pressed. The spectral display is a radial graph of the strength of various audio frequencies being received. If the main sound is a pure tone at the centre of the detection range, it will be shown as a line from the centre to the top of the button. Higher frequencies cause the line to be drawn from the centre to a more clockwise position. Because Morsenger is listening on a range of audio frequencies, many radial lines will be shown, with the length representing the strength of the tone. This will assist you to position your device and/or adjust the audio for optimal reception.

Hit the test button in the top right of the screen to inject various test messages. These messages are injected into the output pipeline as expanded message text which is abbreviated, converted to morse then to a bitstream then raw data before bouncing back via the input pipe and eventually (in milliseconds) as message bubble text. This process tests the entire Morsenger code.

Hit the button on the top right of the screen to view this Wiki in your device.

If you tap on the text entry area at the bottom of the screen, a keyboard will pop-up. This keyboard contains a microphone button that can be used for dictation into Morsenger if you are on-line with a data connection. It also provides spell checking and predictive text if on-line. Enter a message then hit the "Send" button to send the message as Morse Code. Note that what you type may be abbreviated to reduce the transmission time.

Morsenger is always listening for Morse Code using the microphone and also watching for it using your rear-facing camera. It can handle very slow though to very fast transmissions and will automatically adapt to the received message speed. When it starts receiving anything, a window will slide up from the bottom of the screen to visualise the received data. Once the message has been fully decoded, it is transferred onto a new message bubble and stored into the internal database.
