Here are some tips for installing your iPhone or iPad or iPad Mini in your kayak:

  • Put your device in a waterproof case and secure it to your Kayak.
  • It should be in a location that allows you to reach it if necessary to adjust the angle or the Screen Brightness by swiping the compass. In a surfski, try attaching it to the foot strap and in a K1, a mount over your feet may work best.
  • If you are using the stroke rate, power and force facilities, it should be attached so that it doesn't move about independently of the boat. The internal accelerometer is used to monitor stroke force, so the more closely the device moves with the boat, the better the accuracy.
